Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and bond for Asbestos Maintenance Services for Power Plant RESOLUTION NO. 15-334 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR ASBESTOS MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR THE POWER PLANT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Asbestos Maintenance Services for the Power Plant; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 23rd day of April,2014,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 25th day of March, 2014; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of ESA, Inc., of North Sioux City, South Dakota, in the amount of$150,000 (for first renewal option for FY 2015/16) is the lowest and best bid submitted for said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and ESA, Inc., of North Sioux City, South Dakota, in the amount of$150,000 (for first renewal option for FY 2015/16) dated the 26th day of May, 2015, for Asbestos Maintenance Services for the Power Plant as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Great American Insurance Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, as surety thereon, in the amount of$150,000 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 26th day of May, 2015. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
