Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and bond for Non-Asbestos Insulation and Related Services and Supplies for Power Plant RESOLUTION NO. 15-332 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR NON-ASBESTOS INSULATION AND RELATED SERVICES AND SUPPLY FOR THE POWER PLANT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Non-Asbestos Insulation and Related Services and Supply for the Power Plant; and,pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 17`h day of December, 2014, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 241h day of November, 2014; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Total Insulation Mechanical, Inc., of Story City, Iowa, in the amount of $125,000 (for the first renewal period of July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016) is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Total Insulation Mechanical,Inc., of Story City, Iowa, in the amount of$125,000 (for the first renewal period of July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016) dated the 261h day of May, 2015, for the Non-Asbestos Insulation and Related Services and Supply for the Power Plant as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Western Surety Company of Sioux Falls, South Dakota,as surety thereon,in the amount of$500,000 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 261h day of May, 2015. A. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
