Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and bond for ISU Research Park Phase III - Water Main and Sanitary Sewer Construction RESOLUTION NO. 15-312 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY RESEARCH PARK PHASE III -WATER MAIN AND SANITARY SEWER CONSTRUCTION FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Iowa State University Research Park Phase III - Water Main and Sanitary Sewer Construction; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 22nd day of April, 2015, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 24`h day of March, 2015; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of J&K Contracting,LLC, of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$798,589.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, a contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and J&K Contracting,LLC,of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$798,589.00 dated the 28th of April, 2015, for the performance of the Iowa State University Research Park Phase III-Water Main and Sanitary Sewer Construction, as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with American Contractors Indemnity Company of Los Angeles, California, as surety thereon,in the amount of$798,589.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 19`h day of May, 2015. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
