Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and bond for WPC Facillity Make-Up Air Unit and Heat Recovery Units Replacement RESOLUTION NO. 15-302 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR PERFORMANCE OF WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY MAKE-UP AIR UNIT AND HEAT RECOVERY UNITS REPLACEMENT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Water Pollution Control Facility Make-Up Air Unit and Heat Recovery Units Replacement; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 16th day of April, 2015, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 24th day of March, 2015; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Mechanical Comfort, Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$297,141.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Mechanical Comfort, Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of $297,141.00 dated the 28th day of April, 2015, for the performance of the Water Pollution Control Facility Make-Up Air Unit and Heat Recovery Units Replacement as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company(Mutual)of Des Moines,Iowa,as surety thereon, in the amount of$297,141.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 121'`day of May, 2015. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
