HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and bond for Bid No. 2 Turbine Steam Seal System for Unit 8 RESOLUTION NO. 15-263 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR BID NO. 2 TURBINE STEAM SEAL SYSTEM FOR UNIT NO. 8 FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Bid No. 2 Turbine Steam Seal System for Unit No. 8; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 25th day of February, 2015, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 13th day of January,2015;and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of General Electric International, Inc., of Omaha, Nebraska, in the amount of $186,320.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and General Electric International, Inc., of Omaha,Nebraska, in the amount of$186,320.00 dated the 14th day of April, 2015, for the Bid No. 2 Turbine Steam Seal System for Unit No. 8 as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Electric Insurance Company of Beverly,Massachusetts,as surety thereon,in the amount of$186,320.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 28th day of April, 2015. A6.00 Diane R.
