Curtis Members of the City Council City of Ames 515 Clark Avenue Ames, Iowa 50010 Re: Requests for Modifications in the Required Right-of-Way and Street Pavement Widths Northridge Parkway Subdivision Dear Mayor and Council Members: As part of the submittal of the Conceptual Development Plan for this project , we are hereby formally requesting your consideration for reducing the required width for right-of-way and street pavement widths in the non-through, minor residential streets in this subdivision. Our request involves reducing the right-of-way width from sixty (60 ) feet to fifty-six (56 ) feet, and reducing the required pavement width from thirty-one (31 ) feet to twenty-seven ( 27 ) feet. This request includes the following cul-de-sacs proposed in the Conceptual Development Plan: Alderwood Circle Goldenrod Circle Aspen Circle Hemlock Circle Bayberry Circle Sumac Circle Dogwood Circle Sycamore Circle Evergreen Circle Tupelo Circle According to the Municipal Code (Section 23.22 (2) ) , this request is allowed of developers in cases where the streets are non- through, service access, minor streets where sufficient area is maintained for utility construction. This request has been reviewed with all appropriate City staff, and is appropriate for this development. Mayor Larry R.
