Subject Northcrest Community Building--easements
Gere Maddux represents Northcrest. He called me yesterday to ask about the process for 1) granting the
City new easements for sewer and water, and 2) vacating old easements no longer needed by the City.
He mentioned that Ken Janson has been working on the project and that you were aware of the situation.
Gere said he would be sending me revised easement description and an indication of which were new
and which would need to be vacated. I'll forward those to you for review and comment. When approved,
we can give to Diane to publish notice of the hearing to vacate and put the easement grants on the
Council agenda.
My question is this: Gere said that the project is scheduled to be completed November 30 and that
people are anxious to move into the building. He was concerned that the easement issue might hold up
occupancy permits. I don't see the connection. Are you aware of any outstanding issues? Are the
easements tied to any conditions on the project? Is this time sensitive?
