RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
CONTROLS AND RELAYING PANELS FOR 69KV SUBSTATION PANEL AND
TRANSMISSION LINE TERMINAL UPGRADES -
DAYTON AND STANGE SUBSTATIONS
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be performed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
Controls and Relaying Panels for 69kV Substation Panel and Transmission Line Terminal Upgrades -
Dayton and Stange Substations; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 15'h day
of January, 2015, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by Black& Veatch
Corporation and filed with the City Clerk on the 9th day of December, 2014; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Schweitzer Engineering
Laboratories, Inc., of Pullman, Washington, in the amount of$225,876.44 is the lowest and best bid
submitted for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Schweitzer Engineering
Laboratories,Inc., of Pullman,Washington, in the amount of$225,876.44 dated the 27`h day of
January, 2015, for Controls and Relaying Panels for 69kV Substation Panel and Transmission
Line Terminal Upgrades - Dayton and Stange Substations as provided for in the detailed plans
and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said
contractor with Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland of Seattle, Washington, as surety
thereon,in the amount of$225,876.44 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby
approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extend of such conflict.
