Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and bond for Natural Gas Conversion Equipment RESOLUTION NO. 14-583 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR NATURAL GAS CONVERSION EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING BURNERS, IGNITERS, SCANNERS, THERMAL ANALYSIS, AND COMPUTER MODELING FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Natural Gas Conversion Equipment, including Burners, Igniters, Scanners, Thermal Analysis, and Computer Modeling; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 7"'day of October, 2014,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 8th day of July 8, 2014; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Alstom Power Inc., of Windsor, Connecticut, in the amount of$3,355,300.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Alstom Power Inc., of Windsor, Connecticut, in the amount of $3,355,300.00 dated the 5th day of November, 2014, for the Natural Gas Conversion Equipment, including Burners, Igniters, Scanners, Thermal Analysis, and Computer Modeling as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with The Insurance Company of the State of Pennsylvania of New York City,New York, as surety thereon, in the amount of$3,355,300.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 1 Oth day of November, 2014. Diane R.
