Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and bond for 2014/15 Shared-Use Path Maintenance (South 4th Street) RESOLUTION NO. 14-386 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2014/15 SHARED-USE PATH MAINTENANCE (SOUTH 4TH STREET FROM SQUAW CREEK BRIDGE TO SOUTH OAK AVENUE) FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2014/15 Shared-Use Path Maintenance (South 4th Street from Squaw Creek Bridge to South Oak Avenue); and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 4th day of June, 2014, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 9th day of May, 2014; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of A&D Contracting,LLC, of Sioux City,Iowa,in the amount of$100,753.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and A&D Contracting,LLC,of Sioux City, Iowa, in the amount of$100,753.00 dated the loth day of June, 2014, for the 2014/15 Shared-Use Path Maintenance (South 4th Street from Squaw Creek Bridge to South Oak Avenue) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Old Republic Surety Company from the State of Wisconsin,as surety thereon,in the amount of$100,753.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 8th day of July, 2014. CA�� A. , Diane R.
