EASEMENT
ELECTRIC UTILITY AND COMMUNICATIONS
(Grand Junction Subdivision)
KNOW ALL PERSONS BY THESE PRESENTS:
That Grand Junction L.C.,David A. Skei and Susan L. Skei,husband and wife,and South Story Bank
& Trust and Brenton Bank, mortgagees, their successors and assigns, for good and valuable
consideration,receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant unto the CITY OF AMES,
IOWA,a municipal corporation,its successors and assigns,the perpetual right to enter upon the land
hereinafter described, and the perpetual right to construct,reconstruct,maintain,repair and use such
overhead electrical lines not to exceed 69KV and other equipment for the purpose of conveying
electrical current for power and lighting purposes, and for communication transmissions, over and
across the land described as:
A strip of land 30 feet wide located across that part of Lot 1 of the Grand Junction
Subdivision of the SW'/4 of the SW'/4 of Section 2, T83N, R24W of the 5'P.M. in
the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Southwest Quarter of said Section 2;thence S90100'00"E,98.06
feet along the South line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 2; thence
N00°00'00"E, 33.00 feet to the Northerly right-of-way line of Lincoln Way; thence
N58°20'13"W, 77.31 feet; thence N01°11'05"W, 170.38 feet to the Point of
Beginning; thence S86°03'49"E, 330.56 feet; thence S85°39'50"E, 104.24 feet;
thence N61°04'16"E, 54.69 feet; thence N85°39'50"W, 150.08 feet; thence
N86°03'49"W,333.3 5 feet;thence SO 11 11'05"E,30.12 feet to the Point ofBeginning.
AND
A strip of land 15 feet wide located across that part of Lot 1 of the Grand Junction
Subdivision of the SWl/4 of the SW'/4 of Section 2, T83N, R24W of the 5'P.M. in
the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, more particularly described as follows:

all as shown on the plat attached and made a part hereof.
Grantors shall not cause or permit any trees or above-ground structures to be located within the
above-described land,except that Grantors shall have the right to use the surface of the easement area
for drives, parking, sidewalks and landscaping.
Grantee shall not change the location, or increase the number or size, of the existing poles within the
easement area without the prior written consent of Grand Junction,L.C.,its successors and assigns,
which consent shall not be unreasonably withheld or delayed. Interference with the use of existing
parking or drives shall constitute reasonable grounds for Grantor to withhold its consent.
Grantee shall assume liability for all damage to the real estate described herein due to the use of this
easement by Grantee; and upon completion of any construction, reconstruction, repair or
maintenance, Grantee shall restore the easement area to a safe and useable condition and to a
condition substantially the same as before any such construction, reconstruction, repair or
maintenance.
It is the intent of this grant to clarify, but in no way to otherwise enlarge upon, those certain
easements recorded in Book 279, at Page 337, and in Book 82A, at Page 107, in the office of the
Recorder of Story County, Iowa.
