RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY ELECTRICAL
TRANSFORMER REPLACEMENT PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
Water Pollution Control Facility Electrical Transformer Replacement Project; and, pursuant to notice
and hearing, bids were received on the 10th day of April, 2014, as called for in the detailed plans and
specifications as prepared by the Finance Department/Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk
on the 25th day of February, 2014; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Baker Electric,Inc., of Des
Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$109,411.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction
of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Baker Electric, Inc., of Des
Moines, Iowa, in the amount of $109,411.00 dated the 22"d day of April, 2014, for the
construction of the Water Pollution Control Facility Electrical Transformer Replacement Project
as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and
the performance bond of the said contractor with Federal Insurance Company of Warren,New
Jersey,as surety thereon,in the amount of$109,411.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the
same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of May, 2014.
