RESOLUTION N0. 85_24r
ACCEPTING THE PLAT OF GATEWAY-GREEN HILLS SUBDIVISION AND APPROVING
A PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT UPON A PORTION OF THE PLATTED AREA.
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council of the ;
City of Ames, Iowa, a Plat of the land hereinafter described i
designated as "Gateway-Green Hills Subdivision." �
WHEREAS, said plat has been submitted to the Planning and Zoning
Commission as required by law and has been returned to the City
Council with the recommendations of the Planning and Zoning
Commission.

WHEREAS, Green Hills Company of Ames, Inc., Iowa StateA Alumni
Association, Gateway 'Center, Ltd., Gateway Center Associates, and 1
the Sandage Companies are the owners of the real estate, having
executed and duly acknowledged an instrument consenting to said
plat.
WHEREAS, it now appears that said owners of said real estate i
have complied with all of the requirements of Chapter 409 of the
Code of Iowa and the platting ordinance of the City of Ames with
respect to the platting of said real estate.
WHEREAS, the City Council, after a public hearing before the
Planning and Zoning Commission and receipt of its favorable report
and recommendation, has heretofore approved by resolution under the '
Zoning ordinance of the City of Ames a planned residential unit k;
development containing 258 dwelling units, plus a health center,
upon said Gateway-Green Hills Subdivision.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Ames, Iowa, does
hereby accept and approve the plat of GATEWAY-GREEN HILLS
SUBDIVISION, involving the real estate described as follows, to-wit: t ,
A part of the E 1/2 of Section 16 - T83N - R24W of the 5th
P.M., in the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa; described as
follows:

Beginning at the Center of Section 16 - T83N - R24W of the
5th P.M., in the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa; thence
N00°05'00"E, 1019.4 feet along the west line of the NE 1/4
of said Section 16; thence S88°15'30"E, 488.8 feet; (the
following courses are alon the souther17 Right-of-Way of i
Primary Road i30 (By-Pas a� and Ramp "B' thereof) thence
S54°00'15"E, 600.4 feet; thence S71°05'55"E, 526.7 feet;
thence S78°47'35"E, 647.55 feet; thence S79'58'00"E, 302.45
feet; thence S32"09'25"E, 251.1 feet; thence S00°44'10"W,
112.15 feet to a point on the north line of the SE 1/4 which
is N89°29'S5"W, 120.0 feet from the NE corner thereof;
thence S05°37'05"E, 402.3 feet along the west Right-of-Way
line of Elwood Drive, to the NE corner of Oakwood Second
Addition; thence N89°29'55"W, 2,033.29 feet along the north
lines of Oakwood First and Second Additions, also being a
line parallel with and 400 feet South of the North line of
the SE 1/4, to the NW corner of Oakwood First Addition;
thence northeasterly, along a 311.0 foot radius curve,
concave to the northwest, an arc distance of 138.46 feet
(the lonk chord bears H13'15'10"E, 137.32 feet); thence
N00°00'05 E, 66.0 feet; thence S89°29'55"E, 92.0 feet;
thence N00°00'05"E, 200.0 feet; thence N89°29'55"W, 669.2
feet along the north line of the SE 1/4 to the point of

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby
reaffirm its approval of a planned residential unit development
under the Zoning ordinance of the City of Ames authorising the
construction of 258 dwelling units plus a health center upon said
Gateway-Green Hills Subdivision.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk of the City
l of Ames. Iowa, are hereby authorized and directed to certify and
' affix to said plat a true copy of this resolution.
ADOPTED this 20th day of August 1985.
