RESOLUTION APPROVING PARKING LOT CLOSURE
FOR MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, each year, the Ames Patriotic Council conducts a community observance of
Memorial Day, and this observance involves a parade from City Hall to the Municipal Cemetery
followed by a memorial service at the cemetery; and,
WHEREAS, closure of the south half of Parking Lot M(west of City Hall) from 9:00 a.m. to
11:00 a.m. on May 26, 2014, is being requested for staging of the parade entries.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
the request from the Ames Patriotic Council to close the south half of Parking Lot M from 9:00 a.m.
to 11:00 a.m. for staging of the parade entries for the Memorial Day Parade to be held on May 26,
2014, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of May, 2014.
