KNOW ALL PERSONS BY THIS INSTRUMENT: $'a ' we; t e un e
signed, in consideration of One Dollar and• other good and valu-
able consideration, do hereby grant unto the City of Ames ,
Iowa, a municipal corporation, its successors and assigns , here-
inacter referred to as GRANTEE , upon the conditions hereinafter
recited, the perpetual right to enter upon the land hereinafter
described for the purposes of this easement and the perpetual
right to construct, reconstruct , cover over , clean up , operate,
use, maintain and repair electric lines , consisting of poles ,
wires , cables ,, con'duits , fixtures , anchors , and other equipment
required for the transmission of electricity over, upon, across
and under the following described real estate, stivated in the
County of Story, State of Iowa, to-wit :
All of Lot A;
A ten-foot strip of land adjacent to and running the en-
tire length of the perimeter boundary of Gateway Center
Subdivision;
East 10 feet of Lot 1 ;
West 10 feet of Lots 2 and 5 ;
A strip of land 20 feet wide centered upon and running
the length of a line described as beginning at a point
on the North line of Lot 2 located 300 . 0 feet N78°47 '
35" W of the Northeast corner of Lot 2 , thence South
16028100" West 249 . 25 feet;
A strip of land 20 feet wide centered upon and running
the length of a line described as beginning at a point
on the West line of Lot 2 located 210 feet S00°02 ' 40"
E of the Northwest corner of Lot 2 , thence South 72'
51' 00" East 753 . 2 feet;
all in Gateway Center Subdivision of the City of Ames ,
Iowa, as shown on the Final Plat thereof.
The foregoing rights are granted by the undersigned and
shall be accepted and exercised by Grantee subject to the fol-
lowing terms and conditions :
1 . Grantee shall assume responsibility for all damage
to the above described real estate caused by its failure to
use due care in the exercise of the rights granted herein.
2. Grantee shall have the right to trim or remove trees
within the aforesaid easement areas where necessary to secure
a clearance of four feet from wires or poles .
3 . Grantee shall have the right to extend to any tele-
phone ,. telegraph, electric power , gas or cable television
company the right to use jointly or separately with Grantee
=-- - t-he- aforesaid-- easement--a-r--eas- -for- the purposes above enumerated.

the undersigned, a Notary Public in and for the State of Iowa,
personally appeared Maxine Burch and Carole Custer to me per-
sonally known, who, being by me duly sworn, did say that they
are the President and Secretary, respectively, of said corpo-
ration executing the within and foregoing instrument , that the
seal affixed thereto is the seal of said corporation; that
said instrument was signed and sealed on behalf of said cor-
poration by authority of its Board of Directors ; and that the
said Maxine Burch and. Carole Custer , as such officers acknowl-
edged the execution of said instrument to be the voluntary act
and deed of said corporation, by it and by them voluntarily
executed.

known, who being by me duly sworn did say that they are the
President and Secretary, respectively, of Gateway Center, Ltd. ,
named in the foregoing instrument ,- and that no seal has been
procured by said corporation, and that said instrument was
signed on behalf of said corporation by authority of its Board
of Directors and said Thomas R. Smith and John L. Dasher ac-
knowledged the execution of said instrument to. be the free act
and deed of said corporation, by it and by them voluntarily
executed.
