HomeMy WebLinkAboutA095 - Letter to Mayor and Council regarding Eastgate Subdivision and Dayton Avenue Cost Allocation dated January 2, 2015 - - - - - - - - - --- - --- -- --- ----- - -- - - ---- --- - _ January 2"d, 2015 Re: Eastgate Subdivision/Dayton Ave Cost Allocation Dear Honorable Mayor and City Council Members: As the current owner of the property known as the Eastgate Subdivision (13th& N Dayton Ave)we have been attempting to sell this property as a whole piece (13 lots)to a real estate developer. One of the impediments to this happening continues to be the collection of fees associated with the possible future widening of North Dayton Road.The total amount of$132,720 is due upon the sale or transfer of ownership. Since these fees cover a future expenditure that the City has not incurred, we would ask that they be deferred upon the bulk sale/transfer of the property. The fees would still be due and collected in the future as the lots are developed by the new owner and would mirror the current fee collection schedule tied to individual lots. As we are not real estate developers and would like to divest of this property in one transaction, we believe the deferment of these fees under this circumstance will help spur the sale and development of this property, which ultimately will benefit the City.
