Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and bond for Ames Water Treatment Plant Tree Removal Project RESOLUTION NO. 14-113 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR AMES WATER TREATMENT PLANT TREE REMOVAL PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Ames Water Treatment Plant Tree Removal Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 5th day of February, 2014, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Finance Department/Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 14th day of January, 2014; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Aspen Land Clearing of Dows, Iowa, in the amount of$54,910.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Aspen Land Clearing of Dows, Iowa, in the amount of$54,910.00 dated the 11t' day of February, 2014, for the Ames Water Treatment Plant Tree Removal Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with IMT Insurance Company of West Des Moines, Iowa,as surety thereon,in the amount of$54,910.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 4th day of March, 2014. a,-Iiaa�e 4-mo Diane .
