ATTORNEY'S OPINION
I, Craig R. Hastings, hereby state that I am an Attorney at Law, duly admitted to
the practice of law in the State of Iowa, and a member of the firm of Hastings &
Gartin, with offices at 409 Duff, Ames, Iowa. I further state that I have examined the
Abstract of Title to the following described real estate, located in Story County, Iowa;
Beginning at a point 6 feet South of the SW Corner of the public square of
New Philadelphia, now a part of Ames, Iowa, thence North on the West
line of the said public square 120 feet, thence East 220 feet, thence South
120 feet, thence West 220 feet to the point of beginning; AND Beginning at
a point 6 feet South of the SW Corner of the public square of New
Philadelphia, now a part of Ames, Iowa, thence East 220 feet, thence
South 6 feet, thence West 220 feet to the West line of the said public
square/extended, thence North 6 feet to the point of beginning,
from the date of the root of title thereof, down to and including January 10, 2000, last
certified by Iowa Title Company, The real estate has been subdivided and is now
known as DELAWARE HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION, AMES, IOWA.
Based upon information within the Abstract of Title, It is my opinion that the fee
simple title to said real estate is in BRENT A. HAVERKAMP, and that said real estate is
free from all encumbrances. It is my opinion that the real estate is further subject to
easements and restrictions of record and the Zoning and Land Use Ordinances of
Story County, Iowa.
