Re: Dayton Industrial Park Subdivision
Dear Mayor and Council Members:
In connection with our application for subdivision plat approval for the Dayton Industrial Park Subdivision,we
request the following:
A sidewalk waiver for both sides of Armstrong, Glidden and South Fifth Streets;
The City proceed as quickly as possible to acquire the right ofway necessary for the south half of South
Fifth Street.The extension of South Fifth Street is a requirement ofthe DOT RISE grant for which the City
recently applied; and
The City participate in the costs associated with underground piping ofthe portion ofthe water way located
on the Armstrong site that comes from the retention pond located at the Ames Industrial Park Phase I.

At their meeting of October 8, 2002, the Ames City Council referred to staff your letter requesting
a waiver of sidewalk requirement for both sides of Armstrong, Glidden, and South Fifth Streets in
connection with the Dayton Industrial Park Subdivision. A copy of your letter has been forwarded
to Brian O'Connell, Director of Planning and Housing, for his response. You will be notified
when this item will be heard by the City Council.
