HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and bond for RRP New Fire Valve Control Room Addition RESOLUTION NO. 13-290 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF RESOURCE RECOVERY PLANT NEW FIRE VALVE CONTROL ROOM ADDITION FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Resource Recovery Plant New Fire Valve Control Room Addition;and,pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 22nd day of May, 2013, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 23`d day of April, 2013; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Woodruff Construction, LLC, in the amount of$194,300.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Woodruff Construction, LLC, in the amount of$194,300.00 dated the 28th day of May,2013,for the construction of the Resource Recovery Plant New Fire Valve Control Room Addition as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with United Fire & Casualty Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$194,300.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 25th day of June, 2013. lia& A. Diane R.
