HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Preliminary Resolution for Woodview Utilities Assessment Project RESOLUTION NO. 13--2-71 PRELIMINARY RESOLUTION PURSUANT TO SECTION 384.42 OF THE CODE OF IOWA COVERING THE WOODVIEW DRIVE SANITARY SEWER AND WATER MAIN INSTALLATION PROJECT, CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable that a certain sanitary sewer and water main installation project in the City of Ames, Iowa, to be located as hereinafter described, be constructed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 384, Code of Iowa, and a portion of the cost thereof assessed to the property benefited thereby; and WHEREAS, the City has arranged for engineering services with the City's Department of Public Works in connection with said improvement. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. That the following shall be constructed as a single improvement and such improvement shall be located with terminal points and of materials and sizes as follows: Terminal Points From the intersection of Woodview Drive with Oakwood Road and north along Woodview Drive to its northernmost point, including the circle. Kinds and Qualities of Materials and Work The sanitary sewer installation includes excavation and grading, sanitary sewer structures and piping, backfill, and other miscellaneous work. The water main installation includes excavation and grading, potable water main piping, backfill, and other miscellaneous work. Section 2. A general description of the property or a designation of the lots which the City Council believes will be specially benefited by the said improvement are set out on Appendix A attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof as if fully set out. Section 3. That the Engineers are hereby ordered to prepare preliminary plans and specifications, an estimated cost of the work and a plat and schedule, and to file the same with the Clerk, and shall include in the estimated cost a default fund item of not to exceed 10 percent of the amount to be assessed against specially benefited property. Section 4. That the improvement shall be known as the Drive Sanitary Sewer and Water Main Installation Project and shall be so referred to in all subsequent proceedings. Section 5. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof, to the extent the same may be in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
