HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Nuisance Assessment for Property Clean-Up RESOLUTION NO. 12-543 RESOLUTION ASSESSING COSTS OF PROPERTY CLEAN-UP AGAINST THE ABUTTING PROPERTY FOR COLLECTION IN THE SAME MANNER AS A PROPERTY TAX PURSUANT TO SECTION 364.12(3)(a)AND (h), CODE OF IOWA, FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,the City of Ames has served notice on the abutting property owners by certified mail to the property owner as shown by the records of the County Auditor requiring the abutting property owner to load and transport trash and furniture to the Resource Recovery Plant; and, WHEREAS, certain of said abutting property owners did not perform the aforesaid work as required within a reasonable time set by the City; and, WHEREAS,the City has performed the said clean-up of property and now desires to assess the costs against the abutting property for collection in the same manner as a property tax. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that pursuant to Section 364.12(3)(a) and(h), Code oflowa, the cost of the said property clean-up is assessed to the abutting property as follows: Auditor's Record Owner Cost Assessed Property Description 1. Roy Saledo $315.66 232 Village Drive 2724 East Leach Avenue Des Moines,IA 50320 The said assessments to be due and collected in the same manner as property taxes.
