APPROVING THE FINAL PLAT OF COCHRANE'S FIRST ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, AND ACCEPTING THE DEDICATION
OF CERTAIN LAND THEREIN FOR STREET PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council of the
City of Ames, Iowa, a plat of the land hereinafter described designated
as "Cochrane's First Addition to the City of Ames, Iowa"; and,
WHEREAS, said plat has been submitted to the City Plan Commis-
sion as required by law and has been returned to the City Council with
the recommendations of the City Plan Commission; and,
WHEREAS, Marjo, Inc. , an Iowa corporation, as sole owner of
said real estate, has executed and duly acknowledged an instrument
consenting to said plat and dedicating to the perpetual use of the public
certain streets shown thereon; and,
WHEREAS, it now appears that said owner of said real estate has
complied with all of the requirements of Chapter 409, Code of Iowa (1975)
and the platting ordinance of the City of Ames with respect to the platting
of said real estate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Ames,
Iowa, does hereby accept and approve the plat of COCHRANE'S FIRST
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, involving the real estate
described as follows, to-wit:
Commencing at the Southeast corner of the Northwest
Quarter of the Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4 NW 1/4) of
Section 8, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th
P. M. , in the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa; thence
North 89°28' We<;t (assumed for purposes of this descrip-
tion) along the South line of said NW 1/4 NW 1/4 a distance
of 278. 09 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING; thence North
89°28' West aloni; the South line of said NW 1/4 NW 1/4
a distance of 240. 01 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 10
in Nowlin's Subdivision; thence North 00°00' East along
the East line of said Nowlin's Subdivision a distance of
528. 00 feet; thence South 89028' East 144. 00 feet; thence
South 00000' East: 86. 00 feet; thence South 89°28' East
289.94 feet to a point on the West line of Beedle's Subdivision:
thence South 00'05' East along the West line of said Beedle's
Subdivision a distance of 345. 20 feet; thence North 90000'
West 194. 43 feet; thence South 00°00' East 94. 98 feet to
the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Ames, Iowa, does
hereby accept the dedication of the streets shown on said plat and des-
ignated as Lots "A" and "B. "
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk of
the City of Ames, Iowa, are hereby authorized and directed to certify and
affix to said plat a true copy of this resolution.

Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, and William F. Pelz, the duly elected,
qualified and acting Mayor of the City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby certify
that the above and foregoing resolution is a true and exact copy of said
resolution; that said resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames, Iowa, at a regular meeting thereof on the date shown
thin.
