Curtis and Ames City Council Ames City Hall 515 Clark Avenue Ames,IA 50010 ATTORNEY'S OPINION OF TITLE Dear Mayor Curtis and Ames City Council Members: I have examined the abstract of title to the following described real property: Parcel Win the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 36, Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Story County,Iowa, more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the South Quarter corner of said Section 36; thence N89°59'46"W, 345.81 feet along the south line of the Southeast quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 36 to the Southeast corner of Parcel 'A' in the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 36 and the point of beginning; thence continuing N89°59'46"W,418.04 feet to the Southwest corner of said Parcel 'A; thence N00°09'26"E, 616.93 feet to the Northwest corner of said Parcel 'A; thence N89015'43"E, 426.82 feet to the Northeast corner of said Parcel 'A'; thence S00°57'39"W, 622.54 feet to the point of beginning, containing 6.01 acres, from the Root of Title down to and including August 17, 1993. The record title to the property is currently in WILLIAM J. CARTER and VIVIAN CARTER, a/k/a D. VIVIAN CARTER, Husband and Wife. ROBERT T. LONG and JOAN M. NESSET are the contract purchasers of the above described real property and are -2- May 3,1994 Mayor Larry R. Curtis and Ames City Council in possession of the property, with their Contract being recorded in Book 543, Page 177 of the records of the Story County Recorder. There are no liens or encumbrances upon the property, with the except of two mortgages given to First National Bank, Ames, Iowa. The first mortgage is dated August 14, 1986, and is recorded in Book 291, Page 349 of the records of the Story County Recorder, and the second mortgage is dated October !9, 1989, and recorded in Book 378, Page 62 of the records of the Story County Recorder.
