RESOLUTION APPROVING RENEWAL OF CONTRACT FOR
POWER PLANT CHEMICAL TREATMENT SERVICES AND SUPPLIES
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, this contract is for the chemicals and services used in the treatment of the
boilers, cooling tower, coal yard, and ash ponds at the Power Plant; and,
WHEREAS, on June 23,2009,the Council awarded a contract to ChemTreat,Inc.,of Glen
Allen, Virginia, for chemical treatment services and supplies for FY 2009/10, and the contract
included terms for five optional twelve-month renewal periods; and,
WHEREAS, this will be the third renewal out of five maximum; and,
WHEREAS,the FY 2012/13 operating budget for Electric Production includes$224,000 for
the chemicals and services to be supplied under this contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the contract renewal with ChemTreat, Inc., of Glen Allen, Virginia, for Chemical Treatment
Services and supplies from July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013, in an amount not to exceed
$224,000 is hereby approved.
