HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - 2012/13 Funding Contracts with local organizations RESOLUTION NO. 12-218 RESOLUTION APPROVING LOCAL ORGANIZATION 2012/13 FUNDING CONTRACTS FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,during approval of the 2012/13 budget,the City Council allocated funds for use by several local organizations to provide facilities and services for use by the public; and, WHEREAS,the parties must enter into an agreement to confirm the manner in which each organization will use its allocated funding, and the Scope of Services for each is as follows; and, Organization Amount Scope of Services EISHEA, Inc. $8,000 Funds awarded shall be used towards costs associated with contracting for and/or providing for a pancake feed to be held as a alcohol-free activity during the late night hours of VEISHE weekend 2013. In turn,patrons of the pancake feed will be charge lower prices than they would if expenses were not subsidized. unziker Youth $25,000 Funds awarded shall be used towards operating expenses fo Sports Complex facilities. In turn, participants in sports programs will be charge lower participant fees than they would if operating expenses were of subsidized. Homecoming $1,000 Funds awarded shall be used towards costs associated with Central Committee ontracting for and/or providing for a pancake feed to be held as a alcohol-free activity during the late night hours of one night o Homecoming weekend 2012. In turn, patrons of the pancake fee ill be charged lower prices than they would if expenses were no subsidized. Ames Historical $16,000 Funds awarded shall be used towards occupancy costs (including Society rent, utilities, insurance, phones and communication lines, an inspections)related to documenting and housing historical artifact from and about the Ames community. Main Street $31,000 k portion of the funds awarded shall be used towards permanent Cultural District eautification projects in the downtown area.The remainder of fund hall be used for logistical and operational expenses associated with osting the Ames Main Street Farmers' Market, 4" of July Parade nd Festival, ArtWalk, MusicWalk, Snow Magic Celebration, an Tune In To Main Street. The Provider shall serve as a point o contact for coordinating events held in the Main Street Cultural District,regardless of whether the event is sponsored by the Provide r another entity. ampustown $25,000 Funds awarded shall be used to produce a five-year strategic plan fo Action Association he Provider's organization. The Provider will also develop trategy to achieve diversified sources of financial support withi hree years and to increase membership in the organization by 50% within two years. Funds shall be used to support the Cleanliness Project. Funds shall be used to support logistical and operational xpenses related to hosting Summerfest 2013 and at least on dditional large event.The Provider shall maintain an active websit nd social media accounts to inform the public of activities in the rea.The Provider shall serve as a point of contact for coordinating vents held in Campustown, regardless of whether the event i onsored by the Provider or another entity. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the 2012/13 funding contracts for VEISHEA, Inc., Hunziker Youth Sports Complex, Homecoming Central Committee, Ames Historical Society, Main Street Cultural District, and Campustown Action Association are hereby approved.
