RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF
RESOURCE RECOVERY PLANT SECONDARY FEED SYSTEM
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
Resource Recovery Plant Secondary Feed System; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were
received on the 20`'day of March,2012,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared
by the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 28'day of
February, 2012; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid ofA-Lert Construction Services
of Fredonia, Kansas, in the amount of $62,040.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the
construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa, and A-Lert Construction Services of
Fredonia, Kansas, in the amount of$62,040.00 dated the 27' day of March, 2012, for the
construction of the Resource Recovery Plant Secondary Feed System as provided for in the
detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond
of the said contractor with Federal Insurance Company of Warren, New Jersey, as surety
thereon,in the amount of$62,040.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby
approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extend of such conflict.
