HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and bond for Resource Recovery Plant Truck Scale Upgrade RESOLUTION NO. 12-131 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR RESOURCE RECOVERY PLANT TRUCK SCALE UPGRADE FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Resource Recovery Plant Truck Scale Upgrade;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 1st day of February,2012,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 10'day of January, 2012; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Fairbanks Scales, Inc., of Davenport,Iowa,in the amount of$48,036.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Fairbanks Scales, Inc., of Davenport, Iowa, in the amount of $48,036.00 dated the 6t' day of March, 2012, for the Resource Recovery Plant Truck Scale Upgrade as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Travelers Casualty and Surety of America of Kansas City, Missouri, as surety thereon,in the amount of$48,036.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 27th day of March, 2012. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
