RESOLUTION AMENDING BENTWOOD SUBDIVISIOVW
SECOND ADDITION PLAT %600Fees
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA moos fees
WHEREAS, a request has been received from HCS Builders, Inc., to amend the Bentwood
Subdivision Second Addition Plat to allow a driveway access for Lot 11 onto Wilder Boulevard; and,
WHEREAS, under the existing plat agreement, no driveways are allowed for lots in this
subdivision on Wilder Boulevard due to its"collector" street designation and function; and,
WHEREAS, with this "collector" designation, staff believed when the plat was initially
reviewed that the number of driveway accesses along the street should be minimized to provide
greater safety and efficiency for travel; and,
WHEREAS, since this plat provision was not made known to HCS Builders, Inc., a single-
family dwelling was planned and construction started for Lot 1 I with a driveway access on Wilder
Boulevard; and,
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed this subdivision plan and believes that an additional driveway
could be placed on Wilder Boulevard without adversely impacting safety and efficiency, and due to
the lower volumes and speeds along designated collector streets, a limited number of driveways are
allowed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the amendment to the plat agreement for the Bentwood Subdivision Second Addition by allowing
a driveway access for Lot 11 onto Wilder Boulevard is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 22nd day of July, 1997.
