HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and bond for NCAH Pump Station and Wastewater Metering Facilities Improvements RESOLUTION NO. 12-080 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NATIONAL CENTERS FOR ANIMAL HEALTH(NCAH) PUMP STATION AND WASTEWATER METERING FACILITIES IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the National Centers for Animal Health (NCAH) Pump Station and Wastewater Metering Facilities Improvements;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 3rd day of January,2012, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 2 V day of November, 2011; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of C.L.Carroll Company,Inc., of Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of $860,000.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa, and C. L. Carroll Company, Inc., of Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$860,000.00 dated the 14t'day of February, 2012, for the construction of the National Centers for Animal Health(NCAH)Pump Station and Wastewater Metering Facilities Improvements as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with United Fire & Casualty Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of $860,000.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 28d'day of February, 2012. .`YI- A. , Diane R.
