ATTORNEY' S OPINION
I, LARRY R. CURTIS, hereby state that I am an attorney at law,
duly admitted to the practice of law in the State of Iowa, and a
member of the firm of SINGER, PASLEY, HOLM, TIMMONS, MATHISON &
CURTIS, with offices at 323 Sixth Street, Ames, Story County, Iowa.
I further state that I have examined the abstract of title to the
following described real estate:
A part of the West Half of the Northwest Quarter of
Section 14 , Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th
P.M. , in the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, lying
North of U. S. Highway No. 30 described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest Corner of said Section 14,
thence S0001014011E, 520. 00 feet along the west line of
the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said
Section 14 to the point of beginning; thence S8904113411E,
420. 00 feet; thence N0001014011W, 470. 00 feet to the
southerly line of South 16th Street; thence along said
southerly line S8904113411E, 167. 50 feet; N0001812611E
10. 00 feet; S89041134E 727 . 06 feet to the Northwest
corner of Lot 9 in Southtown Subdivision to Ames, Iowa;
thence S0000611111E, 1203 . 65 feet to the Southwest Corner
of Lot 5 in said Southtown Subdivision and the northerly
right-of-way line of U. S. Highway No. 30 Ramp "C" ; thence
S8204212311W 647 . 19 feet along said northerly right-of-way
line; thence S8503810311W, 673 . 05 feet along the northerly
right-of-way line of U. S. Highway No. 30 to the west line
of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said
Section 14; thence N0001412411E, 59. 05 feet along said
west line to the Southwest Corner of the Northwest
Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 14 ;
thence N0001014011W, 805. 06 feet to the point of
beginning;
from the date of the Root of Title thereof, down to and including
the C;I/ day of 1994, as last certified by
Batman-Sayers Abstract Company, Nevada, Iowa. The real estate has
been subdivided and is now known as ASPEN BUSINESS PARK
SUBDIVISION, FIRST ADDITION TO AMES, IOWA.
Based upon the information within said abstract of title, it
is my opinion that the fee simple title to the property described

above is in SCOTT E. RANDALL and JANE S. RANDALL, husband and wife,
and said real estate is free from encumbrances except for the
following:
Mortgage to FIRST NATIONAL BANK, AMES, IOWA, dated July 1,
1994, records of Story County, Iowa, as Instrument No. 94-
07526.
The property is subject to easements and restrictions of
record and the general zoning ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa.
