HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and Bond for Unit No. 8 Air Heater Basket RESOLUTION NO. 11-521 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR UNIT NO. 8 AIR HEATER BASKET FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Unit No. 8 Air Heater Basket; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 12t' day of October, 2011, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 31't day of August,2011;and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Alstom Power, Inc., of Wellsville, New York, in the amount of $95,962.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Alstom Power,Inc.,of Wellsville, New York, in the amount of$95,962.00 dated the 25t' day of October, 2011, for the Unit No. 8 Air Heater Basket as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with RLI Insurance Company of Peoria,Illinois,as surety thereon,in the amount of$95,962.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 22nd day of November, 2011. a-' A. Diane R.
