Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and Bond for Unit No. 7 Circulating Water Pipe Rehabilitation Project RESOLUTION NO. 11-520 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR UNIT NO. 7 CIRCULATING WATER PIPE REHABILITATION FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Unit No. 7 Circulating Water Pipe Rehabilitation Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 12t' day of October, 2011, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 30'day of August, 2011; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of L & P Painting Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in the amount of$155,072.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and L&P Painting Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in the amount of$155,072.00 dated the 25`' day of October, 2011, for the Unit No. 7 Circulating Water Pipe Rehabilitation Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with West Bend Mutual Insurance Company of West Bend, Wisconsin, as surety thereon,in the amount of$155,072.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 22"d day of November, 2011. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
