HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - IDOT Agreement for 2011/12 Collector Street Pavement Improvements RESOLUTION NO. 11-444 RESOLUTION APPROVING IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AGREEMENT FOR 2011/12 COLLECTOR STREET PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS (ASH AVENUE) FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, the City's annual Collector Street Pavement Improvements program utilizes current repair techniques to rehabilitate or reconstruct arterial streets with asphalt or concrete; and, WHEREAS, rehabilitation and/or replacement of collector streets are needed to restore structural integrity, serviceability, and ride-ability, and targeted streets are reaching a point of accelerated deterioration; and, WHEREAS, the 2011/12 program locations are portions of Ash Avenue, Ridgewood Avenue, and Hayes Avenue; and, WHEREAS, the Ash Avenue project is programmed utilizing Metropolitan Planning Organization/Surface Transportation Program funding, while the Ridgewood Avenue and Hayes Avenue projects are locally funded; and, WHEREAS,it is anticipated that the project will have an April 2012 bid letting through the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) with construction in 2012 during the Iowa State University summer session. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Agreement for the 2011/12 Collector Street Pavement Improvements(Ash Avenue)with the Iowa Department of Transportation is hereby approved.
