HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and bond for WPC Plant Switchgear Rehabilitation Project RESOLUTION NO. 11-400 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF WPC PLANT SWITCHGEAR REHABILITATION PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Water and Pollution Control (WPC) Plant Switchgear Rehabilitation Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 14t' day of July, 2011, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 14t' day of June, 2011; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Ziegler Power Systems of Altoona, Iowa, in the amount of$31,854.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Ziegler Power Systems of Altoona,Iowa,in the amount of$31,854.00 dated the 26t'day of July,2011,for the construction of the Water and Pollution Control(WPC)Plant Switchgear Rehabilitation Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Western Surety Company of Sioux Falls, South Dakota,as surety thereon,in the amount of$31,854.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 23' day of August, 2011. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
