BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa. Section One. That on the 12t'of May, 2011,the City Council previously approved Resolution 11- 231, proposing the vacation and sale of the right, title and interest of the City of Ames, Iowa, in certain public property located in the 500 block of Kellogg Avenue immediately south of the First United Methodist Church in Block 8 of the Original Town of Ames,legally described as the South Fifty(50)feet of Lot Eight(8),Block Eight(8),Original Town of Ames,in the City of Ames,Story County, Iowa; and setting a public hearing and authorizing the publication of notice. Section Two. That on this date, the 24t'day of May, 2011, a hearing was held to receive public comment and to consider the proposal to sell the said real estate as follows: The South Fifty(50) feet of Lot Eight(8),Block Eight(8), Original Town of Ames, in the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa; Said sale being by Quit Claim deed to the First United Methodist Church for and in consideration of payment to the City of Ames of the sum of seventy thousand, three hundred and forty five dollars and eighty cents ($70345.80) and by deeding to the City of Ames real estate consisting of Lot 6 and part of Lot 7, Block 8, Original Town of Ames, in the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa as well as granting to the City of certain access easements to the City across portions of said property. Section Three. The City Council now finds that said real estate is not necessary for City purposes and the City's purposes can be satisfactorily accomplished on other land that is being deeded to .. ti the City, and it therefore authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, a Quit Claim deed as described in Section Two. Section Four. The City Council authorizes the City Clerk to deliver said deed upon receipt of the deeds for the land and upon receipt of payment as provided in Section Two.
