BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa. Section One. That on the 12'of May, 2011,the City Council previously approved Resolution 1I- 231,proposing the vacation of a sidewalk easement granted to the City of Ames, Iowa,located in the 500 block of Kellogg Avenue in Block 8 of the Original Town of Ames, and setting a public hearing and authorizing the publication of notice. Section Two. That on this date, the 24t'day of May, 2011, a hearing was held to receive public comment and to consider the proposal to vacate the easement across the real estate legally described as follows: The North eight(8) feet of the South Fifty(50) feet of Lot Six(6), Block Eight(8), Original Town of Ames, in the City of Ames, Story County,Iowa; Said variation occurring in connection with a sale of the south fifty feet of Lot 8,Block 8, Original Town of Ames, to the First United Methodist Church for and in consideration of payment to the City of Ames of the sum of seventy thousand, three hundred and forty five dollars and eighty cents and by deeding to the City of Ames of Lot 6 and part of Lot 7, Block 8, Original Town of Ames, in the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa as well as granting to the City of certain access easements to the City across portions of said property. Section Three. The City Council now finds that said easement is not necessary for City purposes and and it therefore authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute and record on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, a resolution vacating the easement as described in Section Two. e Section Four.
