Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract/bond - 2010/11 Water System Improvements (Water Service Transfers) RESOLUTION NO. 11-223 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2010/11 WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS (WATER SERVICE TRANSFERS) FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2010/11 Water System Improvements (Water System Transfers); and,pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 6`' day of April, 2011, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 21 st day of March, 2011; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of MPS Engineers of Des Moines, Iowa„ in the amount of$187,301 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and MPS Engineers of Des Moines, Iowa„ in the amount of$187,301 dated the 12th day of April, 2011, for the construction of the 2010/11 Water System Improvements(Water Service Transfers) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Granite Re, Inc., as surety thereon, in the amount of $187,301 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 10"' day of May, 2011. j2,& 'Z' �vvvc cif Diane R.
