Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract/bond for 2010/11 Downtown Street Pavement Improvements RESOLUTION NO. 11-221 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2010/11 DOWNTOWN STREET PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS (KELLOGG AVENUE AND MAIN STREET) FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2010/11 Downtown Street Pavement Improvements(Kellogg Avenue and Main Street); and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 6th day of April,2011,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Civil Design Advantage and filed with the City Clerk on the 14th day of March, 2011; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Con-Struct, Inc., of Ames, Iowa„ in the amount of$1,444,369 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa, and Con-Struct, Inc., of Ames,Iowa, in the amount of$1,444,369 dated the 12th day of April, 2011, for the construction of the 2010/11 Downtown Street Pavement Improvements (Kellogg Avenue and Main Street) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company, as surety thereon, in the amount of$1,444,369 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS loth day of May, 2011. Diane R. Voss, Ci `Clerk Ann H.
