RESOLUTION APPROVING EXTENSION OF PURCHASING AGREEMENT FOR
PROPERTY AT 1621 CLARK AVENUE
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, at the July 27, 2010, meeting, the City Council approved the sale of the City-
owned property at 1621 Clark Avenue to Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa(HHCI); and,
WHEREAS, the proposed sale was scheduled to occur on or before November 30, 2010, if
all conditions of the purchase agreement for the rehabilitation and sale of the property were satisfied;
and,
WHEREAS,HHCI has identified and approved a family to purchase this property,however,
the availability of needed contractors to complete work has been greatly delayed due to the August
flooding event and has caused the rehabilitation of the property to be off schedule; and,
WHEREAS, Habitat is requesting the following modifications: 1) rehabilitation to be
completed on or before December 31, 2010; and, 2) closing to a qualified homebuyer to be
completed on or before January 31, 2011; and,
WHEREAS,the time extension of this agreement still requires Habitat to be responsible for
the care and maintenance of the property until the final closing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the amendment to extend the completion date for the proposed contract for sale of City-owned
property located at 1621 Clark Avenue to Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 9`' day of November, 2010.
