RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF FEE FOR USAGE OF ELECTRICITY FOR
OCTAGON ART FESTIVAL
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, The Octagon Center for the Arts plans to host an art festival in the Ames Main
Street Cultural District(MSCD) on Sunday, September 26, 2010, and the event is scheduled to begin
at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS,booths selling art works, crafts,and food items in be in operation,as well as two
entertainment areas—one located in Tom Evans Plaza and the other in Cynthia Duff Plaza; and,
WHEREAS,to facilitate this event,organizers are requesting that the costs for electricity used
during the event's activities be waived; and,
WHEREAS, the MSCD has been informed of the Art Festival and is in support of it.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
the request to waive the fee for use of electricity The Octagon Art Festival on September 26,2010, is
hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 14t'' day of September, 2010.
