HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract/bond for Vet Med Substation 15-kV Metalclad Switchgear RESOLUTION NO. 10-430 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR VET MED SUBSTATION 15-KV METAL CLAD SWITCHGEAR FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Vet Med Substation 15-kV Metal Clad Switchgear;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the I I' day of August, 2010, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by DeWild Grant Reckert &Associates Company and filed with the City Clerk on the 131h day of July, 2010; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Pedersen Power Products of Omaha, Nebraska, in the amount of $563,197.29 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Pedersen Power Products of Omaha,Nebraska,in the amount of$563,197.29 dated the 24'day of August,2010,for the Vet Med Substation 15-kV Metal Clad Switchgear as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Employers Mutual Casualty Company of Des Moines,Iowa,as surety thereon, in the amount of $563,197.29 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 14t'day of September, 2010. C�A�"�R Diane R.
