HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Certificates of Consistency for receipt of Emergency Shelter Grant funds RESOLUTION NO. 10-365 RESOLUTION APPROVING CERTIFICATE OF CONSISTENCY WITH CITY'S 2009/14 CDBG CONSOLIDATED PLAN FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,in order for area non-profit agencies(such as Youth and Shelter Services[YS S], the Emergency Resident Project [ERP], and the Assault Care Center [ACCESS]), to receive their allocations of Federal Emergency Shelter Grant funding,local governments are being asked to sign a"Certification of Local Government Approval"; and, WHEREAS,the signing of the Certificates signify that the local government understands and agrees to allow the non-profit agency to receive federal funds directly from the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS,for the fiscal year beginning July 1,2010,YSS will be receiving$26,000,ERP will be receiving$7,500, and ACCESS will be receiving $13,000 in federal funds; and, WHEREAS, in order to facilitate these agencies' receipt of the shelter grants, the mayor is required to sign the "Certification of Local Government Approval" to allow the State of Iowa to administer the Emergency Shelter Grant program on behalf of these non-profit agencies. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Certificates of Consistency in connection with the City's 2009/14 CDBG Consolidated Plan for the above-mentioned non-profit organizations receiving Emergency Shelter Grant funds are hereby approved, and the mayor is authorized to sign said Certificates.
