RESOLUTION APPROVING PARKING LOT Q
FOR 4TH OF JULY ACTIVITIES
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, 4' of July Parade organizers are making preparations for the event to be held
in the Main Street Cultural District(MSCD); and,
WHEREAS, additionally, Parking Lot Q (near the Library) will need to be closed from
7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. to provide parking for a portion of the volunteers that are needed for the
festivities, making 82 spaces available in that lot; and,
WHEREAS, the Library director has been contacted about this, and he advised that the
parking lot closure would not create any hardship for the Library since it is closed on that day.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the closure of Parking Lot Q from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on July 4 for volunteer parking is
hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 22"d day of June, 2010.
