HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Partial completion for Furman Aquatic Center RESOLUTION NO. 10-168 RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTIAL ACCEPTANCE OF COMPLETION AND RELEASE OF RETAINED FUNDS FOR FURMAN AQUATIC CENTER FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, the City's consulting architectural firm for the Furman Aquatic Center, RDG Planning and Design, completed a final walk-through of the Aquatic Center and provided the City with a Certificate of Completion; and, WHEREAS, during its walk-through, RDG developed a"punch list" of items that need to be addressed this spring; and, WHEREAS, based on the Certificate of Completion, Sande Construction has requested an early partial release of retained funds; and, WHEREAS,as called for in the Iowa Code,provisions for earlyrelease of funds is required, and the amount of partial release equates to $277,596; and, WHEREAS,upon"final acceptance"of the project later this spring,the City will pay Sande Construction the remaining balance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that partial acceptance of the completion of the Furman Aquatic Center is hereby approved,and the release of retained funds to Sande Construction in the amount of$277,596 is hereby authorized.
