RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE RENEWAL OF CONTRACT
FOR PURCHASE OF ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMERS
FOR THE ELECTRIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT, CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, on April 14,2009,the City Council awarded a contract to RESCO of Ankeny,
Iowa, for the purchase of electric distribution transformers for the period April 14, 2009, to
March 31, 2010; and,
WHEREAS, the contract included four optional renewal periods; and,
WHEREAS, under the proposed contract renewal, transformers would be purchased as
requested on a quarterly basis, and this contract renewal period would expire March 31, 2011; and,
WHEREAS,two additional,optional one-year renewal periods remain on this contract;and,
WHEREAS,no contract amount is being authorized at this time since payments will be made
as transformers are purchased; and,
WHEREAS, for the first renewal period,RESCO has indicated at flat 2.47%increase to the
FY 09/10 bid prices.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the renewal of the contract with RESCO of Ankeny, Iowa, for the purchase of electric
distribution transformers for the period April 1, 2010, to March 31, 2011, is hereby approved in
accordance with unit prices and energy losses bid for single-phase and three-phase padmounted and
overhead transformers manufactured by ERMCO.
ADOPTED THIS 23rd day of March, 2010.
