RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PLAT FOR
SPECK SUBDIVISION, 2ND ADDITION,
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, four lots are proposed for single-family detached residences, and three of the
proposed lots are 0.81 acres; and,
WHEREAS, the fourth lot is one acre and contains an existing home; and,
WHEREAS,the properties are located in the unincorporated area of Story County across U.S.
Highway 69 from Ada Hayden Heritage Park and north of West Riverside Road; and,
WHEREAS,on July 24,2001,the City Council approved waiver of subdivision regulations
for installation of infrastructure for this residential subdivision; and,
WHEREAS, staff concludes that the proposed Preliminary Plat is consistent with the Land
Use Policy Plan and the Ames Urban Fringe Plan; and,
WHEREAS,staff further concludes that the proposed subdivision complies with all relevant
and applicable design and improvement standards of the Subdivision regulations, to other city
ordinances and standards, and to the City's Land Use Policy Plan; and,
WHEREAS, at its meeting on February 17, 2010, the Planning and Zoning Commission
recommended approval of the Preliminary Plat.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the Preliminary Plat for Speck Subdivision, 2nd Addition, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 2nd day of March, 2010.
