HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - 2010 Urban Revitalization Tax Exemption requests RESOLUTION NO. 10-040 RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES WITHIN URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,Omega Delta Corporation has submitted an application dated January 17,2010, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 302 Ash Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within the East University Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 5 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, Alpha Omicron Pi Properties, Inc., has submitted an application dated December 1,2009,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2007 Greeley Street; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within the East University Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa;and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, Alpha Gamma Rho Alumni Corporation has submitted an application dated October 14,2009,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 201 Gray Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within the East University Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa;and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, Erben & Margaret Hunziker Apartments, LLC, has submitted an application dated January 19, 2010, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2721 Stange Road; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Town Center West Urban Revitalization Area (Somerset)in Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, Sunset Beach,LC,has submitted an application dated December 2,2009,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 205 Beach Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Sunset View Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS,Richardson Worldwide,LLC,has submitted an application dated September 22, 2009,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 101 Main Street; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Downtown Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa;and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS,Ronald J.McMillen has submitted an application dated February 4,2010,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 413 Northwestern Avenue; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Downtown Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS,Keith D.Arneson and one owner of condominium has submitted an application dated January 13, 2010, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 4503 Twain Circle; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Twain Circle Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that said applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying with the provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
