HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Designation of Story County E911 Service Board representatives RESOLUTION NO. 09-573 RESOLUTION APPROVING DESIGNATION OF CITY REPRESENTATIVES TO STORY COUNTY E911 SERVICE BOARD FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, the Story County E911 Service Board was established in accordance with Chapter 34A, Code of Iowa,for the purpose of providing E911 emergency communications service and to function as the official body in providing these services to its member entities within Story County; and, WHEREAS,the Board implements and maintains the E911 service system,as well as creates and approves an E911 Service Plan for the County; and, WHEREAS,historically,the Police Chief has served as the City of Ames'representative on the Story County E911 Service Board; and, WHEREAS, the Board has recently formalized its Bylaws, which call for each voting member and his/her alternate to be appointed by their respective eligible entities; and, WHEREAS, it is recommended that the City's designated representatives be as follows: Voting Member-Chuck Cychosz,Police Chief, and Alternate Member-Doug Houghton, Support Services Manager. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the individuals named above to serve in their respective roles representing the City of Ames on the Story County E911 Service Board are hereby approved.
