HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Adoption of Ames Comprehensive Historic Preservation Plan RESOLUTION NO. 09-539 RESOLUTION ADOPTING AMES COMPREHENSIVE HISTORIC PRESERVATION PLAN FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, on October 27, 2009, the Council approved changes to the proposed Ames Comprehensive Historic Preservation Plan; and, WHEREAS, the Plan includes the Goals, Objectives, and Action Steps as reviewed and recommended for approval by the Historic Preservation Commission, the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Steering Committee, and as reviewed and accepted by the City Council in draft form; and, WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission has been working closely with Consultant William C. Page and the Steering Committee throughout the process of preparing the Plan; and, WHEREAS, the Goals, Objectives, and Action Steps of the proposed Plan have been reviewed and accepted as a draft by the City Council incrementally in the last several months,based upon recommendations and comments received by focus groups, the Steering Committee, the Historic Preservation Commission, the Planning and Zoning Commission, staff of the Iowa State Historical Society, and interested citizens. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Ames Comprehensive Historic Preservation Plan is hereby adopted. ADOPTED THIS 24th day of November, 2009.
